At Chapman Baseball Compound we are obsessed with quantifying statistics to give us a firm basis on which to work with all of our athletes. We recognize that each and every hitter that steps through the door is an individual and has their own set of specific needs. Which is why we use four different types of technology at CBC which includes: 3-D motion capture, HitTrax data capture and simulator, Blast baseball sensor, and high speed video. While being able to quantify real time data markers such as the kinematic sequence, batted ball distance, exit velocity, attack angle, bat speed, on plane percentage and much more we are better able to serve our clients and address any game time performance issues.
4-D motion is a portable biomechanical software that allows us to get down to the real inner workings of each athlete. This technology allows us to capture information on joint loads, acceleration, rotational efficiency, and the kinematic sequence. This single piece of technology allows us to better address any movement type issues with our hitters. With this capability we can more quickly and efficiently diagnose problematic movement patterns and address them accordingly without any guesswork.
HitTrax data capture and simulation is a great tool that is very effective at gathering all information baseball. Batted ball metrics are massive for us to be able to gain some insight as to what the current capabilities are for each hitter. HitTrax provides metrics such as: exit velocity, launch angle, distance, strike zone coverage, and simulated game like outcomes. With these metrics are better able to gather valuable information that helps us better connect the dots between training and game like situations.
The BLAST baseball sensor is the official swing sensor of MLB. BLAST allows us to quantify everything that is happening with the baseball bat. With BLAST we can quickly and accurately quantify the hitter's bat speed, hand speed, on-plane percentage, attack angle and body rotation. With the BLAST baseball platform we can also track these metrics over the long haul in order to make sure our comprehensive program is making a positive impact on our hitters.
